The first evening for Nicole's homeschool training we (I) decided to go into downtown Chicago to Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum. What a crazy idea that was! It had been over a year since I'd last been in Chicago and I forgot how ridiculously busy it is downtown. Needless to say, we still have fun and it was a gorgious view of downtown from the planetarium.
According to Wikipedia, "The Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum in Chicago, Illinois was the first planetarium built in the Western Hemisphere and is the oldest in existence today...The Adler is the only museum in the world with two full-size planetarium theaters." Micah and I got to sit in the planetarium from the early 1900s that is still in use there. It was pretty interesting. Here are some pictures and a video.
