Land Between the Lakes

The first field trip I got the opportunity to go on with Nicole and the kids here in Paducah was on a hike at Land Between the Lakes and a visit to the Nature Station. According to Wikipedia, "The Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area is a United States National Recreation Area located in Kentucky and Tennessee between Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake."

After our 2 mile hike at Hematite Lake (at which we saw no wildlife as was promised) we went to the Nature Station to sit through a special presentation of some of the wildlife for the kids. Then we went around to see some of the wildlife they have outside of the visitor's center. Here are some pictures...
