Every September countries within the European Union have the European Heritage Days (which in French is Journées du Patrimoine) which "offers opportunities to visit buildings, monuments and sites, many of which are not normally accessible to the public. It aims to widen access and foster care for architectural and environmental heritage. "
We chose to stay in the area and visit sites that are normally not accessible around our place. The first place we visited was a castle in the town where Rebekkah has horse-riding lessons, Martinvast.
