The Wilds
We finally visited "The Wilds" which is the animal conservatory about two hours from us. We were very disappointed. We had visited a wild animal park near San Diego, CA and were very impressed. We had assumed that this would be like that. We were wrong. It had lots of deer, bison, horse-like creatures, rhinos, camels, and we are told they had some cheetahs though we never saw them. The wierdest and most interesting animal they had was a Sichuan Takin. They looked like a giant gerbel with horns. It was a long and tiring day and not really worth all of the driving and waiting and what not. Here are some pictures:

Sorry that the The Wilds was a bummer. Did they have a Jackalope? That would've been really cool!
Nope. No jackalopes--though the Takins were close. They definitely looked fake and cartoonish.
Besides, we already got to see the cool jackalopes in Wall, SD. And Nicole and the kids got to ride one...so that's pretty cool. I'm sure you're jealous about that...
